Synopsis

Three gauchos, one from Uruguay, one from Argentina and one from Brazil, embark on a lonely adventure by horse, towards a common destination where they will meet for the first time.

The real adventure, is the personal journey that each gaucho experiences within, connecting with his deepest roots, reavealing the gaucho escence.

With nothing more than their horses and nature as company, these representatives of the gaucho culture travel for days and rest under the stars at night, sharing the experiences and stories that define them as gauchos.

Episodes

EP 01 - NOW:

The beginning of the journey is threatened for the Gauchos; Don Neri’s has health issues, Gonzalo needs to deal with financial obstacles, and Martin has to convince his parents to let him make the journey with his uncle Diego.

EP 02 - ASSUMING RESPONIBILITY:

On the second day of journey, Martín needs to hunt to provide dinner for him and his uncle; Don Neri shows his skills as a horse tamer to receive shelter and Gonzalo suffers the pressure of a demanding boss who he offers to work for in exchange for a hot meal.

EP 03 - ACCEPTANCE:

Soaked and without shelter, Don Neri must watch his health, Diego relives the loss of his son as Martín puts himself in danger and Gonzalo needs to hunt for food for his well being.

EP 04 - HARMONY OF THE OPPOSITES:

Gonzalo stops at a rodeo where he must face his fears in order to reach his dream of riding an untamed wild horse. Martín cheers his uncle by learning to use “bolas” and Don Neri fights the hardships of the weather on abandoned shacks.

EP 05 - GRATEFULNESS:

Don Neri seeks a doctor who isn't optimistic about his health and offers him haven. In Bella Unión, Martín shares his gaucho customs with town-kids. Gonzalo tries better luck at work shearing sheep in exchange for shelter.

EP 06 - AFFECTION AND LOVE:

After the encounter at isla Brasilia, the gauchos discover the true meaning of The Last Gaucho. On the way back home, Gonzalo dares to ride a wild untamed horse and accomplishes his dream. Diego rediscovers his son in Martín and Don Neri has left a legacy for his grandchild.

Narration

The stars are the gauchos.

A voice over narration in the language of each specific region and played by a recognized public figure, weaves the stories together, in such way that it generates a common thread.

Ricardo Darín

The recognized actor from Argentina involved in multiple films with academy award wins and nominations, plays the narrators voice for the Latin American market. Darín is considered “Latin America’s most influential actor”.

Neri Soares lives in the outskirts of Alegrete, considered the most “gaucha” city of the world for its great concentration of horsemen. Seu Neri considers himself an equal to his horse, claiming that he too suffered like a foal when young.

Now, 73 years old, Seu Neri doesn’t have the same energy as when he was young, but he is still eager to make this journey as a legacy for his granchild.

Uruguay

Diego Silva , 47 years old, was born in a small town of 37 inhabitants, far from the capital city of Uruguay. He lived all his life on the farmlands working with his horse. Little by little he went on buying small lots of land. Today he raises cattle on his own land and sustains his entire family.

After the loss of his two and a half year old son, his life changed forever. Today he has a very strong and intimate bond with his nephew, Martín Borges (7), who will tag along on this journey.

Argentina

Gonzalo Galarza was born in the city of Federal. He now lives in Los Charrúas, a nearby small town, with his parents, trhee of four siblings, and a nephew, on a ranch on the outskirts of town, almost on the farmlands.

He is 20 years old, skinny and very handsome. Gonzalo works on the farmlands doing spontaneous jobs called “changas”. He is a fantastic horse rider and on weekends he travels to wherever there are horse races. He knows he will spend his entire life working on farms. His profile is that of a “rebel gaucho”.
